International Graduate stream reaches cap

international graduate

One day after the new international graduate stream was launched, it reached its limit of 40,000 applicants and IRCC has stopped accepting applications for this stream.

Because of the large number of temporary residents in Canada and the lower selection standards compared to other programs, the graduate stream was in high demand.

Candidates with a Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 5 met the qualifying requirement and were not required to have one year of work experience to be eligible for the. In comparison, most Canadian Experience Class (CEC) applicants require a CLB 7, as well as at least one year of work experience in Canada for graduates, to be eligible for other immigration programs like the CEC.
