Express Entry
Express Entry is a system used to manage Skilled Workers’ applications for permanent residence. It is a fast, consistent and reliable system which allows eligible applicants, who are selected based on their skills and ability to contribute to Canada’s economy, to gain permanent residence in less than a year.
Express Entry manages applications for three economic immigration programs:
Some provinces and territories also recruit candidates from the Express Entry pool through the Provincial Nominee Program to meet local labor market needs.
Each Express Entry Program has its own eligibility criteria which you must meet in order to be able to be accepted into the pool of candidates. However, having a profile and being in the pool does not mean that you will be invited to apply. Only the candidates with the highest scores are invited to apply.
