IRCC has opened an online portal to single candidates above the age of 18 since August 11. It does not accept applications from family members or representatives. It is also inaccesible to people who work for the government and live outside of Canada.
IRCC plans to open the online application to families and children under the age of 18 later in 2021. Representatives will be allowed to apply on behalf of their clients in 2022. It will also be available to Crown servants who have declared their residency outside of Canada.
Applicants who have already filed a paper application should not attempt to resubmit online, according to an IRCC press release.
