Many industries, including tourism and hospitality, were adversely impacted by the pandemic-related shutdowns. However, certain industries experienced a spike in job vacancies.
The federal government conducted study on how the epidemic is affecting workers in each province and territory. Following are ten jobs that have seen an increase in demand in B.C. as a result of the epidemic.

- Computer programmers and interactive media developers (NOC 2174)
- Elementary and secondary school teacher assistants (NOC 4413)
- Technical sales specialists (NOC 6221)
- Cooks (NOC 6322)
- Material handlers (NOC 7452)
- Transport truck drivers (NOC 7511)
- Underground production and development miners (NOC 8231)
