Northwest Territories Entry Level/Semi-Skilled Occupations

To be eligible, foreign nationals must have worked fulltime in the same position with the  Northwest Territories employer for six months and be in good standing with the requirements of their temporary foreign work permit.

The must also show proof of:

  • Permanent job offer from an eligible Northwest Territories employer
  • the required certification or accreditation for the occupation based on the Employer’s job description, the job advertisements (if applicable) and the NOC requirements.
  • CLB 4 in either English or French

Northwest Territories Skilled Worker 

To be eligible, foreign nationals must be able to demonstrate they have the training, experience and education to fulfill the needs of the job description. The skilled worker must have one year of full-time experience in the relevant occupation.

  • Permanent Job offer from an eligible Northwest Territories employer in NOC 0, A, B
  • one year of full-time experience in the occupation they are being nominated for within the last 10 years
  • the required certification or accreditation for the occupation based on the Employer’s job description, the job advertisements (if applicable) and the NOC requirements.
  • CLB 7 in English or French  for NOC 0, A and CLB  for NOC B positions

Northwest Territories Express Entry 

To be eligible for NWT Express Entry, a foreign national must meet the following criteria:

  • be accepted into Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s Express Entry Pool;
  • have a profile registered in the Express Entry system;
  • have a Job Seeker Validation Code; and
  • meet the criteria of the Skilled Worker stream:
  • Permanent Job offer from an eligible Northwest Territories employer in NOC 0, A, B
  • The required certification or accreditation for the occupation based on the Employer’s job description, the job advertisements (if applicable) and the NOC requirements;
  • One year of full-time experience in the occupation they are being nominated for within the last 10 years;
  • CLB 7 in English or French for NOC 0, A and CLB  for NOC B positions
