Caregivers
There are currently two pilots which allow you to gain permanent residence as a caregiver:
- Home Child Care Provider Pilot
- Home Support Worker Pilot
In order to be eligible for permanent residence, you must first obtain a job offer, come to Canada on a work permit and gain at least 2 years of work experience as a Home Child Care Provider or Home Support Worker.
When applying for the work permit (together with permanent residence) you must provide proof of the following:
- A valid job offer
- CLB 5 in Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking in either English or French
- Post-secondary credential (at least 1 year)
- Training or qualifying past experience
