Work and Study
Work While in School
Work On Campus
You can work on your school campus without a work permit if you are a full-time post-secondary student at a designated learning institution and have a study permit.
Work Off Campus
You can work off campus without a work permit if you are a full-time post-secondary student at a designated learning institution (or a secondary-level vocational training program student in Quebec) and have a study permit. Please note that while you cannot work before the start of the program or more than 20 hours a week, you will be able to work full-time during the scheduled breaks.
Work After Graduation
If you graduated and received a degree from a designated learning institution, you may be able to apply for a post-graduation work permit. The length of this permit depends on the length of the program of study and if you studied less than 8 months, it would not be issued. Being able to use this permit wisely could assist you in gaining permanent residence of Canada.
